WaterTower Estates Honors First Responders, Essential Workers During COVID-19

Terre Haute, Ind.  – One of Terre Haute’s most popular wineries is celebrating essential workers and first responders in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Terre Haute’s WaterTower Estates, located on the south side of Vigo County, is giving back to the community with a gift basket give-a-way, featuring donations from other area businesses.

Tiffany Woodward, co-owner of WaterTower Estates and a teacher with the Vigo County School Corporation, says the business will give-a-way six large baskets on Friday, May 1; three of the baskets will be gifted to essential workers (grocery employee, Postal service workers, food service employee, etc.) and three baskets will be gifted to frontline workers (healthcare workers, police and fire fighters).

Winners will be chosen at random by nominations via the WaterTower Estates Facebook page, which has already received more than 500 post comments/entries.

The baskets, featuring WaterTower Estates products and other donations from local businesses, totals more than $5,000 in total donations. Woodward says they have also received dozens of “thank you” cards for first responders along with numerous gift card purchases from members of the community.

“Through this humbling experience we have found that although times are tough, scary and unknown, we live in a community that is ready to pull together and stand beside those who are standing on the frontlines of this virus,” Woodward says.

It’s not too late to nominate a first responder or essential worker. Visit WaterTower Estates Facebook page.
